My grad school friends and I have been meeting together for the past 10 years. It started as weekly "inquiry" at California Chicken Cafe and has most recently morphed in to Book Club once a month, or so.We are currently reading The Last Girls by Lee Smith. Last month it was Sister of My Heart by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.
These "girls" certainly hold a special place in my "heart". Our topics of conversations over the years include (but are not limited to) pedagogy, boys, politics, break-ups, marriages, divorces, kids, miscarriages, vacations, deaths, failures, successes and the housing market. The topics of conversation grow with us, but it seems like just yesterday that they started.
